about: me

As a graphic design student, I am repeatedly told that I should “live and breathe art”, but honestly I don’t. As a Christian, my life is dedicated to honoring and glorifying God Almighty through whatever I do (although I often fail), and so He is my motivation as an aspiring designer. I understand what my instructors mean by that phrase, for if I’m serious about being a designer, I should immerse myself in art. My challenge is to not let my life become about art itself, but who and what I do it for.

Along with being a GD student, I have earned an Associates Degree at FIDM in Fashion Design and hope that in the future I’ll have a career in Graphic Apparel. Other interests include: snowboarding, soccer, photography, board games, cooking (not baking), traveling etc. And ironically my favorite subject besides Art is Math. I like working at night and sleeping during the day, but I doubt I’ll have a job in the future that has those hours. Although hard-working, I’m a procrastinator (but have been doing better in starting assignments earlier) and out-going, but I dislike public speaking (nervous when all attention is on me). After i graduate and work  full-time as designer for at least 1 year, I’d like to attend graduate school to earn an MBA in Business Management or Marketing.

All-in-all I’m eager to grow as an artist/designer (I have a lot to learn) and hope to have a career that I enjoy.
